EXPERIENCE THE CULTURE OF THIS REGION
Visit the Pemón community and get to know Canaima through the voices of its original inhabitants. With respect, share and learn about their daily lives and the traditions that keep their legacy alive.
Departing from Wakü Lodge, we head to the Casa Comunal, where members of the Pemón community welcome us to share their culture through food, art, and tradition.
Savor native flavors such as the traditional fish tuma soup, moriche palm worms, cassava bread, and their famous Kumachi hot sauce, a treasured indigenous recipe. Appreciate and support their craftsmanship: handmade jewelry and woven baskets whose shapes and patterns carry generations of ancestral wisdom.
The visit culminates with a very special performance: the community children’s symphony orchestra. Boys and girls sing in both Pemón and Spanish, accompanied by traditional dances, offering a powerful and emotional moment filled with identity and cultural connection.
This experience is offered in collaboration with Sinfónica Coral Canaima, El Sistema: Canaima, and the Pemón Artisans Association.
